Hon. Chairman Food Craft Institute - Kerala, Shri. A P Anil Kumar, Minister for tourism
Tourism minister Shri. A P Anil Kumar and Shri.P.K.Kunhalikutty Minister for Industries, Information Technology and Urban Affair

Hon. Minister for Tourism Govt. of Kerala
Handing over the MOA signed between Food craft Institute and the Kudumbashree mission.

The Food Craft Institute was founded by the  Government of India and the Government of Kerala, for the purpose of imparting training to promising young men and women in various trades of the Hotel and Tourism industry. The first Food Craft Institute in India was opened at Kalamasery in 1967. Since then Food Craft Institutes have been started in all the states, and in all major cities in India. In Kerala, Food Craft Institutes function in 12 cities and towns, the details of which are given below. This is with a view to building a strong skill based labour infrastructure for the Hotel and Tourism sector in the country, and for wiping out unemployment among the economically weaker sections. The Hotel and Tourism Industry has been identified as the main industry which can provide a good career path from entry level to top management posts to a vast majority of skilled Indians. It is for this purpose that the Government has subsidized all the course fees in this Institute for the benefit of the learning public and hence the fees charged is less than half that charged in similar Institutions.
